Welcome my friend!  Ally Matteodo here.  Thank’s so much for dropping in. Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in a suburb of Boston and went to Williams College in Western Massachusetts, a region known as The Berkshires. Some of my first jobs were as a camp counselor, a cashier, and a research assistant. I realized the positions I enjoyed the most shared little in regards to their focus or tasks, but held one thing in common: good people. Tedious tasks flew by with a friend. Frustrations were lifted with a kind word or a smile. Over the years I’ve come to understand how important a safe, loving, inspiring, encouraging environment is, and we don’t always get it at the office. As a gig worker I don’t have an office in the traditional sense, nor a water cooler!  So I wanted to create for you what I always desired myself- a virtual haven that you can access from anywhere.  A place where, like Dorothy, all you have to do is click your heels together three times and  say where you’d like to go- or in this case, all you have to do is clack your keyboard. My hope is that the Ally District becomes a virtual sister to Wonderland, Neverland, and Oz- the places we all long to go, our lost kingdoms of childhood.
